Family Values - Fall Tour '98 (1999)
Video: NTSC, MPEG-2 at 4 265 Kbps, 720 x 480 at 29.970 fps | Audio: AC-3 6ch. at 448 Kbps, PCM 2ch. at 1 536 Kbps
Genre: Rock, Rap | Label: Sony | Copy: Untouched | Release Date: 21 Dec 1999 | Runtime: 85 min. | 3,96 GB (DVD5)

The tour was preceded by whirlwind political campaign-style tour named "Korn Kampaign" (from August 17, 1998 in Los Angeles through September 1 in Phoenix) to promote the release of their album Follow the Leader. It took the group all over North America to spread the news of their "Family Values" platform to hordes of fans at special "fan conferences" that were organized at every stop along the tour route.

The Cryan' Shames - Synthesis (1968) [Special Ed. 2002]
XLD Rip | FLAC: Tracks+Cue+Log | 388 Mb | MP3 CBR 320 kbps | 165 Mb | Scans | Time: 57:51
Genre: Rock, Garage Rock, Psychedelic Pop | Label: Sundazed Music, Inc. | Cat.№: SC 6188

This record is more eclectic than it is exciting, though the material is well arranged and the group were accomplished harmony singers in particular. On "Greenburg, Glickstein, Charles, David Smith & Jones" they get heavy; with the cover of Hoagy Carmichael's "Baltimore Oriole," they get jazz/folk-rock progressive; on "It's All Right," it's jaunty country-rock; on "First Train to California," there's an almost-self-conscious straining for an MOR AM radio hit.

Produced by legendary producer Glyn Johns, the album was recorded to tape at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles and features Tench handling lead vocals, piano and organs, joined by a team of collaborators including a core band of Don Was, Ethan Johns, Blake Mills and Jeremy Stacey and contributions by Ryan Adams, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Joel Jerome, Tom Petty and Ringo Starr. As a Heartbreaker and on his own, Benmont Tench defines a supporting musician: versatile, tasteful, and distinctive; enhancing sessions without overwhelming the leader. He's so thoroughly part of a group that it's hard to picture him stepping to the center of the stage, but You Should Be So Lucky -- his 2014 solo debut, released roughly 38 years after the first Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers album -- shows he's an appealingly ragged and relaxed frontman and one who knows not to abandon his core strengths.

A sketchy and underfocused debut, Rocka Rolla nonetheless begins to delineate the musical territory Judas Priest would explore over the remainder of the decade: frighteningly dark in its effect, tight in its grooves, and capable of expanding to epic song lengths...

Ron Wood had a rough couple years following the publication of his 2007 autobiography, splitting with his wife of over 20 years and entering rehab for yet another time, but you never would be able to tell this based on his 2010 album I Feel Like Playing. Like his previous six solo albums, it has nothing more on its mind than a good time, a studio party where everybody is invited. This time around, Slash, Billy Gibbons, Bobby Womack and Flea all drop by to have a little fun on a collection rockers, reggae, blues and boogie, the sounds that have been Woody’s stock in trade since 1974’s I’ve Got My Own Album to Do.

The Collectors - Grass And Wild Strawberrys (1969) [Reissue 1991]
EAC Rip | FLAC: Image+Cue+Log | 243 Mb | MP3 CBR 320 kbps | 91 Mb | Scans | Time: 38:07
Genre: Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Proto-Prog | Label: Linea Records | Cat.№: LECD 9.01013 O

On their self-titled 1968 debut album, the Collectors had made an idiosyncratic contribution to the wealth of psychedelic music flooding North America in the late 1960s. In its melodies and instrumental/vocal arrangements, the record fused classical and jazz influences with more conventional rock and pop, particularly on the side-long, 19-minute "What Love (Suite)." Their second and final LP, 1969's Grass & Wild Strawberries, was an equally unusual recording, though one quite different to its predecessor. For this time around, they collaborated with respected Canadian author George Ryga to provide the musical soundtrack to his play Grass and Wild Strawberries, exploring a yet wider range of styles than they had on their first outing.

Joe Bonamassa - Different Shades Of Blue (2014)
EAC Rip | FLAC Image + Cue + Log - 337 MB | MP3 VBR V0 - 99.6 MB | Full scans - 59.5 MB
Label: J&R Aventures LLC. / Provogue | Catalog.#: PRD 7441 4 | Genre: Blues Rock

Different Shades Of Blue is Bonamassa's first studio album in two years and the first album of his career to feature all original material. The result is a record with more of an experimental edge than previous Bonamassa records. It s a blues record that explores the outer reaches and the many different sounds that shape the genre.

Billy Idol - 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection (2014)
Pop Rock, Punk, New Wave | MP3 CBR 320 kbps | 00:43:52 | 103 MB + 5% Recovery
Label: Capitol Records | Release Year: 2014

This budget-priced Billy Idol compilation pales in comparison to lengthier collections like 2008’s Very Best of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself and 2001’s Greatest Hits, but there are enough of the big hits here ("Eyes Without a Face," "White Wedding, Pt.1," "Rebel Yell," "Dancing with Myself") to warrant at least one thumb up.

This is volume one in a series of albums designed to gather together rare and previously unreleased home recordings from the ‘80s onwards under the series title 'THESE TAPES REWIND'. From the mid ‘80s and into the early '90s my home studio, ('The Echo Observatory'), used a reel-to-reel analogue 16-track recorder. I mixed down via an analogue desk onto a very early SONY PCM F1 digital stereo machine. Whilst I released several albums recorded this way, there was a huge amount of material left 'on the shelf’.
