Brian Eno, Robert Fripp - 1975

Robert Fripp and Brian Eno are pioneers of what later became known as ambient music. Fripp and Eno have worked together on many projects over the last 30 years, and their early collaborations are innovative milestones that at the time were considered extremely unusual. Of course, Fripp and Eno are likely to have had many influences; Eno cites that hearing Erik Satie’s music was how he became interested in ambient music as a subtle form of wallpaper that one could listen to, or just let be part of an environment.

During the early seventies Fripp and Eno released two albums: Evening Star and No Pussyfooting. Robert Fripp plays electric guitars while Brian Eno extends and alters the recordings with multiple tape players and other effects, which created the delayed-tape system known as Frippertronics. The mainstream rock press didn't pay much attention to the album compared to Fripp's work with King Crimson, or Eno's solo albums

In 1994 The Essential Fripp and Eno was released, which contained some unreleased material plus the “best of” the previous Fripp and Eno albums, including all of the otherwise currently out-of-print No Pussyfooting. In 2005 the duo released an album of all new material, “The Equatorial Stars”. ~ Chuck Farley

There's not much I can say other than that one should listen to it before passing judgments. Although I'm not a huge fan of Eno (or Fripp for that matter), I grabbed this one when it first came out on the market. I can only say it was money well spent.
