Good sound quality! I was worried this would be a hissy radio recording, but care was taken in producing it. This is listed in Japan and Germany on Amazon, but not on the USA's. Probably some legal dispute. Documents an interesting line-up of Corea's group. Is that really Lionel Hampton, though?

This is the same album as "LA FIESTA" which was a German vinyl LP release on the Happy Bird label.

Yes, this is Lionel Hampton after all. Found this info:

Track List:

01. Sea Breeze (Corea) 9:56
02. I Ain't Mad at You (Corea, Hampton) 8:21
03. Moment's Notice (Coltrane) 4:30
04. Blues for Oliver (Hampton) 8:41
05. It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing) (Ellington, Mills) 7:15
06. Come Rain or Come Shine (Arlen, Mercer) 3:24
07. La Fiesta (Piano Solo) (Corea) 9:28

Personnel:

Chick Corea (Piano);
Lionel Hampton (Vibraphone);
Johnny Grimes (Trumpet);
Haywood Henry (Clarinet, Sax (Baritone), Sax (Tenor));
Cliff Smalls (Piano);
Gayle Moran (Vocals);
Leonard Gaskin (Bass);
Oliver Jackson (Drums).

Review by Roberto Teixeira (Campinas-Brazil):
Corea and Hampton belong to different generations. But his album bring us a very emotive and sensible jazz cooperation. One can easily recognize Hampton`s joy and bliss while playing with Corea, and things really work between them. Corea, in a good moment, plays a brilliant interpretation in FIESTA, coming back to his hispanic origins.Despite this is not a cult album, it has a very interesting cost-effectiveness ratio, and hour of pure happy jazz is achieved.

BUT - in 1967 I don't think Gayle Moran was singing professionally and as I understand it they didn't meet until 1970 or so, anyway. Underground recordings are always dodgy about personnel.

OKAY - this is the same CD as "Sea Breeze," which is listed elsewhere on Avax.

This is the correct info:

musicians

Chick Corea - piano
Lionel Hampton - vibes
Gayle Moran - vocals on track3
Johnny Grimers - trumpet
Haywood Henry - tenor and baritone saxes,clarinet
Cliff Smalls - piano
Leonard Gaskin - bass
Oliver Jackson - drums

Recorded live at The "Palm Beach Casino" Cannes,France on January 22,1978 for the Midem Festival.

After the dissolution of Return To Forever, Chick Corea embarked on a long period of collaboration with many of the best jazz musicians. At this live concert recorded in Cannes in 1978, Corea is accompanied by the legendary Lionel Hampton. The piano and vibraphone duets are particularly exciting (the blues 'I Ain't Mad At You'), as are Corea's solo pieces ('Fiesta'). Gayle Moran also sings on 'Come Rain Or Come Shine.' Miniature gatefold LP sleeve.
