Did you checked this sound against real bugs or you mean bugs in PC software?

I live at a lake, and because of this heat I can only work outside, so if this really works then it will SAVE MY LIFE in these months... Thanks!

About three or four years ago a Korean distributed a pair of programs to get rid of mosquitoes and rats!

It won't work because the point in mp3 format is that when you convert or record in this format it tries to make the file smaller so it "gets out" the "unnecessary" sounds (those that human ear is can't hear or it can but hardly) from the file. So you can't record/convert ultrasound in mp3...

yes i agree with emill.
Post it in WAV format or APE directly ripped from CD, otherwhise MP3 Will cut all the Ultrasound frequencies

Yes. This evening I did a very practical experiment, with a very disappointing result.

Furthermore, I have found this article which is equally disappointing: http://www.eurescom.de/message/messageSep2003/Bits_against_bites.asp

Nevertheless, it was nice to having hopes for some hours...

Yep, mp3 cuts at 12000 Hz and besides this, your sound card will cut at 20.000 Hz and your speakers, if they are 500 dollar ones, will also cut at 20.000 Hz, so NO WAY to play ULTRASOUND at your PC! This must be CRAP!

Yup. worried is quite right.. unless u have piezoelectric speakers, and amps that have ultrasound bandwidth, these high frequencies wudnt just play, as normal audio speakers wont respond beyond say 15-17kHz.. moreover, MP3 format wud simply remve those hi-frq parts of teh signal...

Hey people, try to analyze the sound file in audio editor (SoundForge) and you'll see that there are only few clicks and nothing else... so heare are some 'real' tips:

Marines who spend a great deal of time "camping out" say that the very best mosquito repellant you can use is Avon Skin-So-Soft bath oil mixed about half and half with alcohol.

Rubbing a garlic clove pinched to get the juiceflowing all over exposed skin or eating food with garlic is a good repellent for mosquitoes. It's efficiency is proven against vampyres and wives...100%!!!
